Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce said their vows on July 3. At Madison Square Garden. Naturally the world was watching.
Then there was Jennifer Lopez.
She turned up to the wedding and frankly looked like she owned the room. Yes that Jennifer Lopez was actually in attendance, and honestly her look outshone nearly every other guest in the crowd. She posted about it herself too, dumping a batch of photos to her Instagram grid. No long speech or heartfelt paragraph. Just a single clinking champagne glasses emoji 🥂. That says everything, doesn’t it?
The dress? A dramatic black number. Drop-waist style that screams mid-century glamour but feels distinctly modern. Styled by the trio of Rob Zangardi, MarielHaenn, and HannahMargeson it had serious texture and movement. She kept the accessories sharp though—silver necklace matched perfectly with matching earrings. Glow-y rose makeup courtesy of Rokael Lizama gave her skin that expensive sort of luminescence while JustineMarjan pulled her hair into a sleek back bun secured with a velvet headband. White nails from TomBachik finished it off clean.
It actually followed the reported dress code to a tee. The New YorkTimes broke down what the groom’s side wanted—men in full tuxedos with black bow ties and satin-striped trousers, women allowed floor-length gowns or elevated cocktail attire. Lopez nailed that brief without looking stiff or try-hard.
She got the vibe exactly right.
You might ask if they are still close after all this time. Yes, absolutely. They have been friends for more than a decade now, back to 2013 really, when J-Lo hopped on stage for Swift’s RedTour in LosAngeles to sing “Jenny FromTheBlock.” A surprise duet that broke the internet briefly. Later when Lopez made that documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told in 2024, she reached out to Taylor about appearing in it. Taylor couldn’t make it happen but the line never went dead between them. They remain pals still.
